Hey everybody,

We're on TV! You can see us on Sunday, if you have the Discovery HEALTH channel. The show is called 'On the Road with 16 Children', another episode about the awesome Duggar family. I haven't seen it yet so I can't guarantee that it's good... it is rated 'G'...

And last but not least:

Eze 16:48-50 "As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good."

Notice that while Sodom is known for it's immorality, the only phrase here that would relate to that is 'committed abomination' which could very well be any number of things(see below). God states here, that he destroyed it for other reasons, reasons that we would consider far 'less important'.

When our family went over this last week, it really hit home. According to God’s standard, we as a nation, are unrepentantly guilty of the very same things for which Sodom was destroyed.

Pride:
1Pe 5:5 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

Fulness of bread and abundance of idleness:
Eph 5:16 "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."

Niether did she strengthen the hand of the poor:
Jas 2:15 "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?"

Haughty:
Pr 18:12 "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility."

Comitted abomination:
Pr 3:32 "For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous."
Pr 6:16 "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him..."
Pr 11:1 "A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight."
Pr 11:20 "They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight."
Pr 12:22 "Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight."
And many more...
