Better then I could have said it...

I found this blog through another blog and really enjoyed THIS post... A well written piece about the declining moral condition of our nation.

Thanks for your prayers!

We made it back safe and sound on Monday afternoon. The bus performed very nicely and we are all excited about the prospect of traveling again! In fact, we almost scheduled a trip to Utah next week!!!

Here's a brief trip report:
We left our house at about 10PM Thursday night and drove all the way through the night to Bend, OR. We only stopped once for fuel...made it in about 16hrs.

Enjoyed an awesome family camp hosted by the Johnson family. (Friday-Sunday)

Left camp Sunday afternoon and visited our friends house (also in Bend, OR) for several hours...Hit the road for home at about 11PM. Stopped for fuel and picked up a passenger who needed a ride to Sacramento area! Drove straight through to Sacramento where we fueled up (and dropped off our passenger).

The only excitement happened when we hit the Grapevine (a five mile, 6% grade) in the heat of the day, 100+ deg. Our bus would normally climb this hill at a whopping 20MPH. But this time, due to the heat, we had to slow it down to 10...and we had to turn the heater on full! It was a blast! A HOT blast!!! Never was the AC appreciated more then when we made the top of the grade!

Thanks for all your prayers!

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Rom 6:4

Computer time vs. Quality time

I've been spending a lot less time on the computer lately. The problem is, I'm spending more time at work instead...not so sure that's a good trade-off.

Last time I left you, I mentioned another kitchen we were starting. We did complete it in 5 days but I didn't take any pictures. My bad. We also built a deck last week. No pictures there either. Somebody needs to teach me to use a camera!

We had a great '4th of July'. Instead of hitting the beach (which we knew would be crowded) we went to our Grandpa's house and swam in his beautiful pool! It was a very nice, refreshing time spent with family.

Next weekend we are hoping to go to Oregon...It will be the first trip in the bus since we got back from Oklahoma. I've been spending quite a bit of time working on it these last couple of weeks and I think everything's working okay. Pray for us and pray for our BUS!

If you think you're a good person, take this test and find out!

Check this out (Thank you Mr. M-V!):
"...whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:..." Matt 5:22a (KJV)
"...every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment..." Matt 5:22a (ASV)
Same verse, different translation...and different meaning! One allows for 'casue', the other doesn't.

God bless and I hope you all have a GREAT week!

Embarrassing Moment

A friend of ours brought some of the youth group from his Chinese church to our evening service yesterday and wanted us to sing for them. Directly after the service, one of the (youth group) girls came up to me and insisted, in broken english, that I take her picture. When I asked for the camera, I found out, much to my chagrin, that I wasn't taking the picture, I was supposed to be in it...Just me and her! The whole time my sisters and some friends who were visiting (you know who you are), were laughing at me. The picture probably didn't turn out well because my face was red!

Praying that this holiday will be a blessing to you and your family.

Freedom is not the liberty to do what we want, but the power to do what we ought!

"What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."Romans 6:15-18
